Cambodian links stronger, says National Assembly Chairman

HA NOI – Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung yesterday affirmed that Viet Nam always prioritised boosting the traditonal friendship and comprehensive co-operation with Cambodia.

He made the statement while receiving a delegation from the Cambodian National Assembly Committee for Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, Information and Media, led by its Chairman, Chheang Vun.

Hung suggested the two parliaments' external affairs committees should pay attention to boost the two countries' co-operation in various fields and create favourable conditions for the celebration actitivities on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of theestablishment of the two countries' bilateral relations.

Chheang Vun highly appreciated Viet Nam's assistance to Cambodia in the past years and informed his host of the working results between the two parliments' committees for external affairs.

On the same day, General Le Hong Anh, member of the Politburo and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Pary Central Committee, received Chheang Vun.

He expressed his hope that the National Assemblies of both countries would boost experience exchanges in legislative-related issues, and inspect and urge relevant authorities to implement agreements signed by the two countries.

Chheang Vun affirmed that Cambodia would make every effort to improve relations between the two countries.— VNS
