HA NOI — President Truong Tan Sang expressed delight at the significant advances in co-operation between the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday.

Speaking with visiting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Sar Kheng, Sang lauded the feat of arms that the two ministries had achieved in the past years.

The President said he hoped the two sides would continue to promote co-operative relations and fulfil duties entrusted by their Parties and people in the time to come.

Sang said he believed the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs and the Cambodian Government would do well in their position as ASEAN chairman in 2012.

In reply, Sa Kheng informed Sang about co-operation results between police forces of the two sides.

He said the two ministries had reached a consensus on various topics and were committed to supporting each other in information exchange, anti-crime and training during the 80th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police organisation.

They also pledged to strictly abide by the spirit of joint declarations and 2011 co-operation plans between the two ministries. — VNS
