Cambodia should now review maid stand

The Star
Oct 19, 2011

I AM glad that the police have denied a recent press report that three Cambodian maids in Malaysia died after being abused “Police deny Cambodian maids abused to death” (The Star, Oct 18).

Bukit Aman CID director

Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin clarified that, from 2004 until today, only two deaths involving workers from that country have been reported.

So now Cambodia should review its stand on the maid matter as far as Malaysia is concerned. I hope it will.

But please send maids who are fluent in English and who have enough skills in managing homes and complying with the duties entrusted to them.

BULBIR SINGH,

Seremban.
