Numbers at the airport have risen to new monthly highs of 4.7 million, with passenger traffic to and from the Chinese mainland and South East Asia performing particularly well.
Hong Kong airport saw a high average load factor of close to 80 percent for passenger on flights from HKIA.
The Hong Kong airports council has said both foreign and base carriers have been active in adding more flights and launching new destinations to deal with the increased traffic.
Hong Kong International Airport has also retained its position as the world’s busiest international cargo airport for the 14th consecutive year.
