HANOI, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam said here on Thursday that Vietnam always attaches importance to intensifying solidarity and friendship with India.

Dam made the statement at the talks with President of India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee Geetesh Sharma who heads the Indian delegation to attend the ongoing international conference on Vietnamese literature held here.

Dam expressed his hope that the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee will be a bridge to connect solidarity and friendship between Vietnamese people and Indian people and international community as a whole. India will play a key role in promoting close cooperation among countries in the world for peace and friendship.
