Khmer Krom Refugees concern their safety

The 24 Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Refugees had deported by Thai authority is concerning their safety after they are staying long time in Poy Peth, Bang Teay Meancheay province, Cambodia.

The Khmer Krom Refugees confirmed that they have fled from Kampuchea-Krom (South Vietnam) after Vietnamese authority had followed to arrest them-protest peacely.

Chau Heng, a Khmer Krom Refugees is from Svai Tong district, An Giang porovince said that he fled to Bangkok in 2008 after Vietnamese authority demanded to arrest him because he led Khmer Krom farmer to conduct the demonstration during April, 2008 to demand their farmer land.

"I stand up for Rights and my farmer land which be confiscated by Vietnamese authorities during 1978-1979," Chau Heng said.

Chau Heng said his family was be attempted to kill by Vietnamese polices in 7-8-9 April, 2008. "The polices used bomb and shot to my home while i and my family were sleeping," Chau Heng said. Chau Heng confirmed that the Vietnamese authority have announced anywhere to arrest him and to kill him.

This farmer land protest activist also added that besite his family there are Mr. Huynh Ut or Chau Ut family and some family from Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh were be followed to arrest.

Khmer Krom Refugees, fled to Bangkok in different time and from different province of Sout Vietnam. Now there are 24 Khmer Krom Refugees were deported to Cambodia where they do not have any relative, and any support from the Government of Cambodia though they ever claimed that Khmer Krom arrive Cambodia will become Cambodian people automatically. Now these Khmer Krom Refugees have no food, no home and no one concerns about them.

Before here a few months, Tim Sankhorn is Human Rights activist was be given up from the monk adn dent from Cambodian authority. Then he was deported to in prison at Vietnam. After he was released, Cambodian authority also announced that he can live in Cambodia as Cambodian residents. Anyway, he did not get any documents related to residents like Cambodian government confirmed.

The 24 Khmer Krom Refugees said that they concern so much when they are living in Cambodia. They are afraid of deporting to Vietnam again.
