The RFA Khmer Service broadcasted on November 15 that, on November 13, there were about 15-20 Vietnamese polices went from one Khmer-Krom’s house to another in An Cư village, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province to threaten Khmer-Krom farmers to stop filing complaints to demand returning their confiscated farmlands.

The Vietnamese polices threatened that If the Khmer-Krom farmers don’t stop, they will be imprisoned. The Vietnamese authority promised that they would build a house for the Khmer-Krom family that lost their farmland if the Khmer-Krom farmers stop filing complaints. The Khmer-Krom farmers didnot accept the offer because their farmlands worth more than the value of the house that the Vietnamese authority offers.

A Khmer-Krom farmer told RFA reporter that he will not stop to demand returning his confiscated farmland. He would rather die instead of stopping to demand returning his confiscated farmland.
It is a time for the Vietnamese government should solve the confiscated farmland issues and stop threatening the voiceless and hopeless Khmer-Krom farmers.
