Women's Day in Kampuchea-Krom

By Freedom

Women's Day is the day of Women all in the world who have standed up for Freedom and Human Rights. Talk about Wonmen's Day is a great time for Wonman in the world except Khmer Krom Women in Kampuchea-Krom.
According to the News from Kampuchea-Krom where is Khmer Krom People are living (Khmer Krom people are the the Indienous People of the southern Vietnam. Most of them living in Kampuchea-Krom and living under control of the Vietnamese government. For this living, Khmer Krom people have suffered tremendous human rights violations, confiscation of ancestral lands, and economic and social deprivations. Moreover, they are not allowed to freely learn their own history in public school or to freely practice their Theravada Buddhism whithout the interference of Vietnamese government) let us know that in Kampuchea-Krom have not got any Day for Woman (Khmer Krom). Khmer Krom women always be treated by Vietnamese government when they conduct the demonstration. Furthermore, their rights are be violated and treat them not a human being.
Mrs. Neang Vong, 39 age, living in Svai Tong district of Mort Chrout provice said: "I have never heard the term Women's Day or what day free for Women here." She said:" in Kampuchea-Krom, Vietnamese Communist Government does not respect our rights, and not allow us to do even if practicing our culture and tradition."
A women is also from Svai Tong said, from the first time for conducting the demonstration in Mort Chrout province, Vietnamese government treated them as betrayer because of against Communist regime. Anyway, everyone still remembers that in 2008, approximately 40 Khmer Krom famers was injured after they conducted the demonstration.
Mss. Ly Srey Roath from Soc Trang provine, studying in Can Tho University said:"I just hear Women's Day in my book and some information were be broadcasted, but the real of Women's Day for Khmer Krom or Ethnices Poeple in Vietnamese, it seems No!". Srey Roath said:"I say like this not mean in Vietnam has no rights, Yes we have, but our rights are limitted by them. From day to day, they always try to hide us. They just let us know what is basic!".
The Khmer Krom women are also at rist and face double discrimination in Vietnam. They are dicrimination first because they are female and second because they are Khmer Krom. Some example include:
Mss. Dao Hai Ngan, aged 15 was raped by a Vietnamese authority in Can Tho and despite appeals by UNPO and KKF, no acknowledgment or action has been initiated by the Vietnamese authorities. Khmer Krom women have been prosecuted for looking at human rights materials produced by the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation; Khmer Krom women have been banned from participating in demonstration...Lack of job opportunities in the provincial region has led Khmer Krom girls to travel outside of their region and become victims of human trafficking.
The Khmers Kampuchea-Krom hope from day to day that i can get the real Women's Day and the rights human being as people a round the world.
